C* Certificate

PRE-REQUISITES:
Minimum Age
: 14 years
Pre-Required Certificates: D and C Certificate
Presentation: Formal Pony Club uniform MUST be worn (white shirt, club tie, beige jodhpurs, club saddle blanket etc.), Horse MUST be plaited.
Number of Examiners Required: 2 examiners per 4 riders
Exam type: written exam (1 hour), theoretical (oral questions), practical (ridden)

CERTIFICATE OVERVIEW:
Candidates in C* Certificates should be able to demonstrate confidence in riding at speed, riding in a snaffle bridle where ever possible. The rider should also demonstrate a balanced seat, independent of the reins when viewed from all sides. The rider should also be working with 'feel' in a light seat, and be well on the way to a soft contact with the horse accepting the bridle. The jumping seat should also be well established with a secure lower leg over the fences.
The rider should also be extending their horsemastership skills, including knowledge of preparation of the horse for strenuous events, and working with the horse on the ground (lungeing).
