Award of Merit
Sarah Gordon Noonamah Horse & Pony Club 2009

Sarah has been a member of the Noonamah Horse and Pony Club for around 15 years.  She has always been an active riding member representing NHPC in Baker Shield and Championship teams on numerous occasions.

NHPC saw a decline in membership numbers a few years ago, and not wanting to see the club she and her family had been a part of for so many years decline any further, Sarah stepped up and nominated for the role of President.  As a young lady of 24 with two young kids we applaud her for not only her achievements, enthusiasm and dedication at NHPC but her involvement as Secretary of PCANT as well.

Sarah was also the main instigator of the recent instructor’s clinic with Anthea Sutherland from Victoria - as a result the Northern Territory now has numerous coaches signed off at the NCAS preliminary level for the first time in many years.

Sarah and her family have always displayed the true spirit of pony club and will continue to do so as she and her children enjoy active riding memberships at NHPC.

Khye Sibenarler Darwin Horse & Pony Club 2009

Khye Sibenaler (nee Bannon) has been Chief Instructor of Darwin Horse & Pony Club for over 5 years and has almost single-handedly run the games component of the Baker Shield for an even greater number of years - even when heavily pregnant with Keyan. She has run numerous Funkhanas and Championships for the benefit of the wider PC community and has supported KHPC in running the games portion of Champs events. She has also freely given her time, visiting other clubs to assist with their games training and certificate examinations.

Khye has been an exemplary instructor and rose through the ranks as a junior games specialist who went on to represent her state and then ultimately, Australia. She has passed on invaluable skills to a number of DHPC riders who have followed in her footsteps.
